On a train journey to London one day, a national newspaper editor stared out of the window and looking into people’s back gardens he mused that everyone must have a story to tell about themselves.

He was right. So-called vanity publishing is very much a boom area.

Families are clamouring to know more about the lives of their parents, grandparents and ancestors. These days anyone can leave behind a unique record of his or her life.. and they don’t have to be famous, or infamous.

Following the success of his book The Invisible Girl, a biography of genius comedy writer Debbie Barham, Gumtree Media MD Alan Hurndall, has launched a new service researching, writing and publishing people’s life stories.

One of our writing team will visit your home or workplace and interview you about your life. We will them publish this in book form and present it to you.

The book can contain pictures and be as long or as short as you want.

You pay by the day, and of course, how many pages and pictures are contained in the book.
